The Heekin Family
Our family has been deeply involved with the United Way for many years. My father, Albert E. Heekin, Jr. was on the Board for 18 years and was the head of the United Appeal campaign in 1965. My wife, Chris, was on the Board of the Community Chest (currently known as United Way) from 1980-1989 and was chairman in 1985-1987. Our son, Kip, is currently the chairman of the United Way Foundation and is a member of the United Way Board of Trustees.
The reason for our involvement is quite simple. United Way is the single organization that analyzes the human service needs of our Greater Cincinnati area and promotes and raises the funds for programs and services needed to address these needs through its 137 member agencies. Peoples lives are better and our entire community is better because of United Way.
